Intro to Zentangle® Basics with Deb Prewitt, czt

The Zentangle Method is an easy-to-learn, relaxing, meditative, and fun way to create beautiful images by drawing structured patterns. (visit zentangle.com for more info)

Almost anyone can use it to create beautiful images. It increases focus and creativity, provides artistic satisfaction along with an increased sense of personal well being. The Zentangle Method is enjoyed all over this world across a wide range of skills, interests and ages.

This class will introduce you to the basics of the Zentangle artform, teaching you simple patterns and structure in a mindful setting.

Facilitated by: Deb Prewitt

Deb Prewitt is a Mixed Media Artist and CZT (certified Zentangle® teacher). She has always loved art in its many various forms. Over the years she has dabbled in many types and styles of art. Deb knows that all art media are wonderful and you can always learn something that will be useful somewhere else in your life/art. She owns Blue Twig Studio, a working artist studio and classroom, as well as a small retail area. She believes in the power of art and creativity to change a life. If we all create/play just a little bit more, we will be happier people. Which means our families will be happier, and our communities will be happier, and thus the world will be a better place to live in. She has been teaching art for many years and absolutely loves seeing the magic of what students create in her joy/play filled classes.

NOTE:

Finding Our Voices will be purchasing kits for those wishing to create with the Zentangle Kits recommended by the instructor. To help with the kit purchase, FOV would appreciate a $5-10 donation from those who request the Zentangle Kit. Included in the kit are: 5 tiles, 2 micro pens of different weights, 1 shading pencil, 1 blending stump and Zentangle guidelines…all in a handy cloth drawstring bag.

Do it yourselfers can gather the supplies that are listed here and participate in the workshop:

black pen, pencil, 2  3 ½” squares (preferably of heavier paper like media paper)

Because of the Covid19 guidelines, FOV is experimenting with two opportunities to participate in our June Art
Workshop. The in-person workshop at Cottonwood Gallery will be limited to 10 people total in the room.

Enrollment in the in-person workshop will be limited to the first 8 who RSVP with Eventbrite.

Those of you who would feel safer working from home, along with those of you who are not among the first 8 to enroll for the in-person class, do have another option – FOV will have a Zoom camera in the room to relay the
instructions to those working from home on their computer, tablet or phone.

The Zoom link will be provided via email to those who request it, you must email us at FOVartshow@gmail.com if you will be participating virtually to receive the zoom link.

Please note that both in-person and at home participants may choose whether to use the zentangle kit or their own supplies.

Both in-person and at home participants must request a zentagle kit by email, along with their registration so that we can order the proper number that is needed. Those of you that would like the zentangle kit, but are participating from home through zoom, may pick up the kit you requested via email, curbside at Cottonwood Center for the Arts, between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. on the morning of the workshop: Saturday, June 13th.
